Modules: Structure of the Earth; Climate Change and Global Warming; Cross Cutting Issues of Climate Change

Our weekly assignments invite students to explore essays, book chapters, news features, lectures, podcasts, videos and websites. Each assignment requires students to engage for approximately an hour, they vary in length depending on their difficulty. Lengthy book chapters allow for students to get deep into the text whilst short videos present more challenging material whilst leaving more time for thinking.

About the Course

Geography is a broad discipline, which spans billions of years of history, thousands of miles of land and the lives of millions of different species.

With such a broad remit no Geographical reading list could ever give a complete picture of the discipline. This series, therefore, looks to provide an insight into some of the current key themes in Academic Geography. Each week’s reading or watching should take no longer than 60 minutes. It is recommended you take notes whilst reading the material, the material varies from newspaper articles to academic papers, podcasts and YouTube videos. Some of the academic papers are wordy and written in a very particular style, do not worry if you struggle

Some of the academic papers are wordy and written in a very particular style, do not worry if you struggle to understand some of them, it takes time to get used to reading them, and the more you read them the easier it gets, which is partly why they are in here!!!
