This course, taught online individually in 1-1 sessions, will help to prepare you for the Law National Admissions Test (LNAT). No prior knowledge is assumed: the LNAT tests your aptitude, not your knowledge. However, students who do well will have sharp critical reasoning faculties and be able to engage with a range of social, technological, cultural and economical issues.

The LNAT consists of 2 sections focusing on verbal reasoning, critical reasoning, deductive and inductive reasoning, interpretation and analysis.

About the Course

This course will help to prepare you for the Law National Admissions Test (LNAT). No prior knowledge is assumed: the LNAT tests your aptitude, not your knowledge. However, students who do well will have sharp critical reasoning faculties and be able to engage with a range of social, technological, cultural and economical issues. This course will take you through these different areas and guide you in developing the skills required to do well.

The LNAT consists of 2 sections. Section A comprises 42 multiple-choice questions across 12 comprehension passages, and section B requires you to write a 500-600 word essay on one of three essay choices. This course will cover both of the 2 sections, focusing on verbal reasoning, critical reasoning, deductive and inductive reasoning, interpretation and analysis. We also look at distinctions between inferences, generalisations, opinions and conclusions, as well as practicing essay-writing on a range of possible titles.

Meet the Course Designer

Jessica O'Driscoll-Breen is a graduate of the University of Cambridge. She read Part I medicine and Parts I and II philosophy, and she is currently studying law at the University of Law on the Graduate Diploma course alongside tutoring. Jessica has been tutoring for the past three years in a range of humanities subjects, sciences, university applications and aptitude tests. She specialises in conducting intelligence assessments, administering aptitude tests and assessing cognitive approaches in students.
