  • Dr Claire Gordon is Head of LSE Teaching and Learning Centre and former Teaching Fellow in the European Institute of the London School of Economics and Political Science. She recently submitted written and oral evidence to the House of Commons Select Committee on Education inquiry on the impact of exiting the EU on higher education. 
  • Jeremy Till, Head of Central St Martins and Vice Chancellor of University of the Arts London, will talk about ways his institution will continue to educate across national borders post-Brexit.
  • Dr Andrew Gardner, UCL Institute of Archaeology wrote a recent paper on 'Brexit, Boundaries, and Imperial Identities’ exploring parallels between British post-imperial identity and the end of the Roman empire. 
  • Mike Curran, Director of Price Waterhouse Cooper will give us some insider insights on the City of London’s plans/ views.

Written a few months ago, this piece captures the general sense of panic within British universities.

2. Corbett, Anne and Claire Gordon. (2016 ). ‘Written and oral evidence to the House of Commons Select Committee on Education inquiry on the impact of exiting the EU on higher education’

Dr Gordon from the LSE is one of our speakers. She represented the LSE’s views on Brexit to parliament. This paper gives a brief summary of what she said.

 

3. Dr Andrew Gardner - ‘Brexit Boundaries & Imperial Identities’, Journal of Social Archaeology

This paper makes an interesting comparison between British politics now and the political situation at the end of the Roman empire. It is a hard paper to read –from an academic journal it is not intended for sixth formers! If you decide to try reading it, I suggest starting with the introduction and conclusion. Dr Gardner will be speaking.
