Video Editing
This course acts as an introduction to learning the techniques involved in being a content creator on YouTube and other video media platforms. In six lessons, we will learn how to edit videos, create thumbnails, upload and market/brand our channel.
Lesson 1: The Basics of Video Editing Software
In this lesson we will learn:
- The layout of our editing software
- How to create projects and how organisation is key in video editing
- Create cuts and basic edits
Lesson 2: Video Editing; The Next Steps
In this lesson we will learn:
- How to add Titles
- How to add Visual Effects
- Exploring Visual Effects options and how to import external visual effects
Lesson 3: Advanced Video Editing Techniques
In this lesson we will learn:
- How to use keyframes to animate FX parameters
- Speed ramping
Lesson 4: Why Audio Is The Most Important Part
In this lesson we will learn:
- How to add Audio FX
- The FX involved in a basic audio vocal chain
- What is foley and how sound effects can hugely enhance the video quality
Lesson 5: Graphic Design Introduction
In this lesson we will learn:
- How to use Canva to create graphics ranging from thumbnails to banners
- If students are using Adobe products then we will learn Photoshop instead of Canva
Lesson 6: Marketing and Branding - Why You Should Care
In this lesson we will learn:
- What a brand is and the power of a brand
- Important techniques we should employ on YouTube to start developing a strong brand
- Inbound Marketing and techniques we can use to have our content seen
