As Head of Art at Bonas Macfarlane, Darren provides consultations, mentoring and tutoring. He also manages a team of specially selected art tutors.
Alongside his tuition, Darren is a practising fine artist, and exhibits regularly in the UK and abroad. He has more than 20 years continuous studio experience, arranging peer critiques, organising exhibitions, and working with galleries.
He is founder of the online art magazine ‘The Page’ writing art reviews and criticism of contemporary art. He also owns and runs a successful art related business, providing life-drawing classes for social occasions such as team building events.
Darren graduated from Glasgow School of Art with a 1st Class degree in Fine Art, and then went on to complete his MA at Chelsea College of Art and Design. His paintings are held in private collections in Europe and the UK, including The Saatchi Collection, London. He worked for the UK's most prestigious student art competition, Bloomberg New Contemporaries, for 10 years. From 2002-2003, he was awarded the prestigious Abbey Scholar in Painting at the British School in Rome.
