Dr Marco Liviero has taught English at Cheltenham College, The King’s School Canterbury and at Eton College where he is also a House Master.
He is a native of Padua where he graduated in 1994 in English Literature. He was an Erasmus Scholar at University College Cork, where he also taught, and gained a PhD in Renaissance Literature from the University of Birmingham in 1997 with a thesis on the relationship between Elizabethan performers and the Commedia dell'Arte.
He has acted in and directed over fifty plays and he frequently lectures in Italy, the U.S.A., Asia and Australia. He has published a variety of academic articles on the topics of Anglo-Irish Drama, Italian Literature, Shakespearean Comedies as well as several translations. Recently he has been appointed Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Manhattanville College in New York.
