Our courses and enrichment programmes are designed by experienced tutors who understand how to foster curiosity, independence and intellectual confidence.
Each course encourages students to think creatively and engage deeply with ideas, helping them develop breadth as well as strong academic foundations. Learning is approached thoughtfully and without pressure, allowing children to explore subjects in a way that feels purposeful and absorbing.
We provide thoughtfully designed courses and enrichment programmes aligned to each student’s age, interests and academic development. Delivered by experienced tutors, our programmes evolve with the student, fostering curiosity, confidence and intellectual independence while supporting meaningful academic growth at every stage.
In the early years, enrichment nurtures curiosity, confidence and enjoyment of learning. Our courses can strengthen early foundations while encouraging children to explore ideas more deeply. Our programmes support early intellectual growth in a way that feels engaging, measured and developmentally appropriate.
Between 8 and 13, pupils benefit from challenges beyond the classroom. As senior school entry approaches, enrichment plays an important role in developing confidence, curiosity, leadership and independence. Our programmes are designed to complement academic preparation while nurturing the broader qualities valued by leading independent and boarding schools.
Between 13 and 16, enrichment plays a decisive role in shaping academic distinction and personal presence. As pupils progress through GCSE years and begin considering sixth form pathways, intellectual depth, curiosity and independent thinking become increasingly important. Our courses are designed to extend learning, cultivate discipline and support the broader qualities valued by leading senior schools and competitive sixth forms.
From 16 onwards, enrichment becomes increasingly strategic as students prepare for final school qualifications and applications to some of the most competitive universities in the UK and internationally. At this juncture, breadth, depth and intellectual maturity matter as much as results. Bonas MacFarlane offers carefully selected courses and enrichment that help students stand out through genuine engagement, curiosity and clarity of direction.
Families come to us for reassurance and guidance as much as expertise. By building long-term relationships based on trust, discretion, and thoughtful support, we support parents and children through some of the most important early decisions they will make.
Darren has been the best art mentor we’ve had the fortune of working with, providing invaluable guidance and support that helped my son complete his portfolio on time in his final year of senior school. His mentorship truly brought out the best in him, and the outstanding feedback the work has received wherever it has been submitted speaks for itself.
I want to extend my deepest thanks to mentor Darren Marshall. His professional mentoring and support over the past year have meant a great deal to me. I truly cannot imagine how I would have connected with the RCA—or completed my studies so smoothly—without his efficient and high-quality mentoring. Thanks to Darren‘s support, I’ve made significant progress, even breakthroughs, in my artistic journey. It has been a real pleasure working with him.
It has been a wonderful and fruitful experience working with BM Tutors. We were very happy with their professional service and supportive approach, and ultimately we are grateful for the fine results they have helped us achieve.
