Lydeard Farm is nestled in seventy acres of rolling meadows and woodland in the Quantock Hills, England’s first designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. Completely secluded, yet only fifteen minutes from Taunton station and the M5 motorway, the farm is home to a wealth of wildlife, flora and fauna. On the edge of an international Dark Sky Reserve the views of the Milky Way are awe-inspiring.
The site is run by Colonel Michael Kingscote and his wife Catherine, who have dedicated over twenty years to training children in adventurous outdoor activities, teamwork and leadership. They are joined by their Operations Director, Chloe Harman, a passionate advocate of the power of outdoor learning.
Lydeard Farm boasts an amazing array of facilities, it has its very own purpose-built bushcraft centre, field kitchen, outdoor classroom and woodland, as well as access to a lake. The site is run by a team of professional outdoor activities experts and is AALA approved, has a badge of quality for ‘learning outside the classroom’, and is ASDAN registered
Built in 2019, we have at our disposal five cosy wooden lodges (two boys cabins, two girls cabins and a staff cabin). All are complete with showers, toilets and central heating. Each lodge sleeps up to sixteen in two or three bedrooms.
Just along from the cabins is the campsite, a beautiful orchard which is at the heart of our back-to-nature experience. With plenty of trees to climb and space to run around in, the children will spend at least one night in the orchard under canvas.
The address of the farm is:
Depending on each week's group size we will either travel to Lydeard Farm by train from London Paddington or by coach from our London office.

You are welcome to make your own way to the farm. We ask that you arrive between 11am and 12pm on Monday and collect at 1pm on Friday.
The Camp Bonas programme has been designed by Bonas MacFarlane educationalists who have over 25 years’ experience in preparing children for secondary school.
Each camp will have a Camp Leader at the helm. The camp leaders have extensive experience working with children and have been carefully vetted by us.
Our camp mentors have been sourced from our extensive pool of professional Bonas MacFarlane tutors. We pride ourselves on an extremely high camper-to-staff ratio, with a target of one mentor to every 6-8 students.
All our staff are DBS checked, first aid trained and safeguarding trained to Level 2 Educare safeguarding standard. We also go through a specific training programme for our camps, ensuring we are delivering the best programme possible and giving the best possible care for our campers.
Along with our staff, campers will be engaging with Lydeard Farm’s team of outdoor activities experts, who will supplement our programme with their workshops. These experts will take the children through some of the more adventurous activities the site has to offer.
